Royal Navy Museums appoint Golden Goose in the build-up to HMS Victory’s 250th anniversary
Royal Navy Museums, the body responsible for the maintenance and restoration of HMS Victory, has appointed brand licensing boutique Golden Goose to develop its strategic licensing programme internationally.
Best known as Vice‑Admiral Lord Nelson’s flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar, HMS Victory attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year and remains a recognisable national icon. “As we prepare for the 250th anniversary of the ship being commissioned in 2028,” said Greig Stewart, head of commercial at Royal Navy Museums, “we want to share HMS Victory’s story through uniquely authentic and inspiring products and partnerships. Golden Goose’s strategic approach and track record with heritage brands make them the ideal partner to support our licensing activity.”
Valerie Fry, Golden Goose’s Account Director, added that “As a historic British symbol recognised around the world, our aim is to bring the prestigious and significant design heritage of HMS Victory to new categories from maritime and nautical equipment and historic replicas through to modern-day collaborations.”
Working closely with the museum’s curatorial team, Golden Goose will look to deliver products that reflect HMS Victory’s maritime heritage and cultural importance. “We are truly honoured to be entrusted with such an iconic piece of British history,” said Adam Bass, Golden Goose’s Director.
The first wave of licensed products is expected to launch in 2027, with a full anniversary‑year programme planned for 2028.
